Speed Interviews with Moffet’s Little Leaders: Areliz, Amazing Artist & Rick and Morty Expert

The Moffet Arab Arts After-School Program is filled with talented artists who have a ton of imagination. One of these talented artists is Areliz, a third-grader who loves drawing, science, and quoting Rick and Morty. Areliz is one of the most thoughtful students I have met. I had a few seconds to ask her about her experience at Moffet so far!

What is your role at Moffet?
To entertain people. Because last year, I wrote stories and put them on *Mr. Demeano’s YouTube channel.

Why do you like to entertain people?
It’s fun.

What’s your favorite thing to do at Moffet?
Probably art and drumming.

What do you like about making art?
That it’s fun, and that in many different ways it’s hard to explain.

What do you like to make art about?
Drawings of stuff and monsters, maybe even characters for movies too.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A scientist or a video game designer.

What’s an idea for a video game?
Well, my idea is getting a whole collection of video games and then finding Easter eggs. Like, find out secret stuff that the people who made it hid.

Stay tuned for more interviews with the Moffet students!
